Access to Work
Access to Work is a UK government-funded grant scheme to help people with disabilities, physical and mental health conditions to start and stay in work.
The grant can help pay for specialist software including Caption.Ed, adaptive equipment, a support worker or travel expenses to and from work depending on the needs of the individual.
How Can Access to Work Help?
Your employer must make certain changes to make sure that you’re not substantially disadvantated when doing your job – this is know as “reasonable adjustments”. These could include providing you with assistive technology, such as Caption.Ed. However if the help you need at work is not covered by your emaployers making reasonable adjustments, you may be able to get help through access to work.
An Access to Work grant could pay for specialist equipment, adaptations or support worker services and help getting to and from work.
