At last week’s Business Leader Awards South West, CareScribe took home the trophy for Family Business of the Year.

Hosted by comedian Patrick Kielty and attended by over 600 business leaders and entrepreneurs, the Business Leader Awards has become the most prestigious and celebrated business event of the year in Bristol and the South West. It brings together the most influential leaders in business, education and government to recognise and celebrate business success.

Nominated in both the Innovation and Technology and Family Business of the Year categories, CareScribe scooped up the award for Family Business of the Year – an award which celebrates businesses that are family owned.

Founded by Richard Purcell, Chris Purcell and Tom Cartwright – Richard and Chris are brothers – CareScribe creates assistive technology products, including Caption.Ed and TalkType, with a mission to make the world more accessible.

Talking about the win, Chris Purcell said:

Winning this award is testament to the hard work and dedication of the whole team. While the award says “Family Business”, many would argue that Richard Purcell and I are more of a limiting factor; it’s every single individual at CareScribe that makes the magic happen.

Chris also added:

None of this would be possible without our amazing clients. We work with the world’s leading Universities, public bodies, FTSE 100 companies, and a brilliant number of Disabled Students Allowance and Access To Work Assessors and Trainers – thank you for putting your trust in us. We’ll continue to work our hardest to continue to earn your trust and provide the best assistive technology for end users.

This award is hopefully the first of many for the CareScribe team and we can’t wait to see where the company and its products go over the next few years!
